Queensland trip summary... Sat 24 Sep - Sun 30 Oct (5 weeks). Taking in Great Central road, Ayers rock, Alice Springs, Plenty Highway, Fraser Island, Goldcoast (theme parks), Sydney, Blue mountains, Bathurst, Canberra, Snowy mountain hwy, Alpine Hwy, Melbourne, Great Ocean road, Adelaide, Barossa Valley, Nullarbor plain. Our biggest trip to date, covering nearly 12000k. We will be travelling on a budget, so camping and caravan parks most of the way.

This trip is now CLOSED to more participants, as nearly a year of planning has been done, and it is simply too late for any
late entrants to prepare adequately for such a big trip, given that the launch date is fast approaching.

Vehicle requirements: As we will be travelling through some very remote country on the Plenty hwy, all vehicles will need to carry plenty of spare parts, lots of extra fuel, plenty of water, and at least 2 spare tyres and a tyre repair kits. Trailers / Camper trailers can be towed on this trip, but it is essential that they are heavy duty off-road trailers, with adequate spare tyres etc. We recommend that the trailer wheels and tyres are interchangeable with the vehicle's. You will need adequate food and first aide supplies. Skip will have his CDMA phone with car antenna, and will also be carrying an EPIRB. We have decided not to hire a Sat phone or RFDS radio, as the only remote driving we will be doing is the Great Central rd, and the Plenty Hwy, which both have regular traffic on them now-a-days.
